PROJECT 2 MILE  is a passion project to empower marginalized women who live in the squatter settlements in and around the city of Port Moresby, PNG.

I had the honour of travelling to Port Moresby in May and met with all our talented weavers. I was overwhelmed by the sight of all the women and to hear from them individually about the positive impacts "Project 2 Mile" is having on them on a day-to-day basis.

Here are some  examples of good stories from the weavers;

"......... my school certificate was held back due to outstanding school fees. This week I am able to pay off my outstanding school fees and  I will receive my certificate....."

"..........most of us are widows and through this project we are able to afford food and other necessities for our families......."

".............some of us lost our purpose and gamble playing cards all day but this project has taken us away from such activities and has given us a new meaning to life......."

"...........2 Mile squatter settlement is famous for notorious crimes in Port Moresby and we sense that this project is bringing some light into the area........"

All these would not be made possible without your  wonderful support.  Thank you to each one of you for your continuous support in making a difference to someone's life.

We hope to "change her narrative" with one bilum at a time. Together, collectively we can do this!

Warm regards,

Maggie
